Free summer learning for eligible adults, parents and carers

Eligible adults, parents and carers across Wiltshire are being encouraged to take advantage of a range of free learning opportunities this summer through Wiltshire Council’s Family and Community Learning (FACL) programme.

The programme includes almost 60 online and face-to-face sessions designed to help people build confidence, improve wellbeing and develop practical life and take positive next steps towards further learning, volunteering or employment.

Sessions are delivered in partnership with local organisations including schools, family hubs, Jobcentre Plus, the FUEL programme and community groups.

The programme includes family learning sessions to help parents support their child’s development and wellbeing, alongside adult courses covering confidence, resilience, healthy living, cooking and employability skills.

New for this summer are “Discovering Art for Wellbeing” sessions, being held in locations across Wiltshire, giving residents an opportunity to explore how creativity can support positive mental wellbeing.

Cllr Jon Hubbard, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills said: “These free sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for residents to build confidence, learn new skills and improve their wellbeing in a supportive environment. Whether you’re looking to support your child, focus on your own development or take steps towards employment, there is something for everyone.”
