Man arrested for firearms offences following warrants in Bolton
One arrest has been made following the execution of a warrant at an address in Bolton this morning.
At around 6am today (Wednesday 10 June), officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team, Tactical Aid Unit and dog unit, conducted a warrant at two addresses in Astley Bridge, Bolton.
This warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drugs supply in the area.
During the operation, one man, aged 36, was arrested under the firearms act and he has since been bailed pending further investigation.
Officers also seized a knuckle duster stun gun at one of the addresses.
Sergeant Zachary Keneally from our Neighbourhood Team in Bolton said: “This warrant forms part of our ongoing work to tackle illegal drugs and firearms across Bolton.
“This arrest highlights the continuous work we are doing to keep the area safe for all residents and visitors. I also hope it provides reassurance that we are continuously pursuing those involved in criminality.
“We rely heavily on information from the public, and I would encourage anyone who has concerns or suspicions about criminal behaviour in their area to come forward.
“Your reports are crucial in helping us act and keep our communities safe.”
Anyone with information about criminal activity is urged to contact police via 101, or via the LiveChat function on our website. You can also report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The Neighbourhood Policing Week of action will take place from 15 to 21 June.
Neighbourhood policing is more than a role – it is a specialism that requires knowledge, skill and strong leadership.
Officers and PCSOs working in neighbourhood teams are often the first point of contact for local people, building trust, preventing crime and dealing with the issues that matter most to the communities they serve, including anti-social behaviour.
We have around 1,400 neighbourhood officers working across 38 teams at GMP – they are based in all 10 of our districts.
