Greater Manchester Police Modern Slavery and Organised Immigration Crime (MSOIC) team, also supported by the Criminal and Financial Investigation Department of Home Office immigration, executed a warrant in Bolton following an investigation into organised criminal networks across Greater Manchester.

Upon entry to an address on Meltham Place, Bolton, officers located an 18-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply false ID documents with improper intent and being concerned in the supply of cannabis. A quantity of drugs and cash has also been seized from the address.

This arrest was made in connection to an ongoing investigation into organised immigration crimes across Greater Manchester.

Detective Inspector Abigail Thomas from our MSOIC team said: “Today’s arrest marks a key step in our continuous efforts to disrupt and dismantle Organised Immigration Crime in our communities.

“Criminals committing these offences reap massive profits by exploiting desperate individuals, putting them at risk of exploitation and modern slavery when they arrive in the UK.

“We remain committed to working with partners to bring offenders to justice and ensuring victims receive the protection and support they need.”

If you are concerned about criminal activity within your area, you can report this to us directly on 101 or by reporting information using our online report tool at www.gmp.police.uk. Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
