Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a sexual offence in Southampton.

It was reported around 4:30pm on Thursday 23 October, a 14 year-old boy had been walking along Cemetery Road when an unknown man appeared and attempted to speak to him. The man then put his hand down his trousers and appeared to be inappropriately touching himself.

The man is described as white, aged between 20-30 years-old, of medium build and approximately 5 ft 10 tall, with black hair and no facial hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black top.

A runner witnessed the incident and stopped to ask the boy if he was okay. We urge the runner to come forward with any information they may have.

We would also like to  hear from anyone else who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and recalls seeing a man matching the above description. Even if you didn’t see the man, do you recognise the description? Do you have any footage, including mobile phone or CCTV, which may assist us?

If you can help us with any of the above, please call 101 and quote incident number 44250480622.
