Let’s Talk Fareham’s Finances – Have Your Say on the Council’s Budget
Fareham Borough Council is committed to planning ahead responsibly to meet the future needs of residents while continuing to provide quality services.
Each year, the Council reviews its finances carefully, and this year’s Annual Budget Consultation is particularly important. Rising costs and economic pressures mean it is costing more to deliver the same core services.
To ensure long-term stability, the Council prepares a five-year financial forecast, which helps anticipate future challenges and make informed decisions about priorities and investments. A five-year forecast allows the Council to:
- Meet its legal duty and manage public money responsibly
- Prepare for economic changes, including the evolving Local Government Reorganisation proposals.
- Make decisions that safeguard the Borough’s financial health for future years.
The consultation is open until Monday 9 February 2026. Residents are invited to share feedback on the Council’s proposals and priorities by completing a short survey: https://online1.snapsurveys.com/6w0cru
Paper copies are available during opening hours at the Fareham Borough Council Civic Offices.
Cllr Simon Martin, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said: “We encourage everyone to take part in this consultation. Your views will help us make informed decisions about how we manage our finances and continue to deliver quality services for the Borough.”
