Man jailed after £100,000 worth of drugs seized from vehicle
On 1 December 2025, officers identified an Audi parked in Heald Grove which was believed to have been involved in criminal activity.
Crime scene investigators examined the Audi and discovered two rucksacks concealed beneath the boot floor which contained a substantial quantity of drugs.
Officers also recovered several items linking Elkomsi to the vehicle, including personal documents and two mobile phones.
During a further search of his home address, officers recovered 39 bottles containing suspected codeine phosphate – a class B drug – and documents relating to drug dealing activity.
Further testing confirmed drugs recovered from the vehicle included cocaine, MDMA, ketamine and cannabis, with the total street value of drugs seized believed to exceed £100,000.
Investigators estimate that one recovered block of cocaine weighed close to half a kilogram. Additional searches carried out at an address in Rusholme resulted in the recovery of £4,000 in cash.
Detective Constable Paul Elkin said: “During this investigation we were able to remove a large quantity of harmful drugs from our communities.
“We also recovered a large quantity of drug-dealing advertising cards featuring QR codes used to promote drug supply, highlighting the increasingly sophisticated methods being used by organised criminals.
“Elkomsi believed he could avoid detection and continue his criminal activity without consequence. At every stage, he showed a blatant disregard for the law and the significant impact that drug dealing has on local communities.
“During court proceedings, he sought to distance himself from responsibility with claims that were found to be untrue. Confronted by the strength of the evidence, he eventually pleaded guilty.
“This is another positive result in our ongoing efforts to tackle serious drug offending across Manchester. Working together, we will continue to target those who profit from the exploitation of others and support the vulnerable people affected by this type of criminal activity.”
